Trying to win big with Scratchcard Winners

An image of 6 different scratchcards together, unscratched. Scratchcard winners

I’ve teamed up with Scratchcard Winners for this post. They kindly provided me with £10 worth of Scratchcards to scratch off and see if I too could become a winner like the winners featured on their site. Scratchcard Winners are not affiliated with The National Lottery, they just run a site that features their Scratchcards.

My fiancé and I regularly play Scratchcards, so we were pretty excited to see what we could win. The most we have ever won on a Scratchcard was £50. That’s pretty frustrating considering we play on a weekly basis. Most of the time our winnings won’t even cover the cost of what we spent. It makes us wonder why we continue to buy them. I guess the hopes of winning big one time is enough to lure us back again and again. After all, you can’t win if you don’t play.

What is Scratchcard Winners?

Scratchcard Winners is the number one blog page for all UK National Lottery Scratchcards past and present. They regularly feature information on new Scratchcards and their availability in shops, as well as posting images of big winners on their social media pages. They love to run competitions and giveaways too, so be sure to follow them on their website, Facebook and Instagram account for all the latest news.

Again, just to reiterate they are not affiliated with The National Lottery.

The Scratchcards I received

I received 6 different scratchcards to try out, which I will list below (along with their odds of winning a prize):

  • £100,000 Green – £1 per Scratchchard (There is a 1 in 4.58 overall chance of winning a Prize on each Scratchcard)
  • 5X – £1 per Scratchcard (There is a 1 in 4.61 overall chance of winning a Prize on each Scratchcard)
  • Get Lucky – £1 per Scratchcard (There is a 1 in 4.58 overall chance of winning a Prize on each Scratchcard)
  • Instant £100 – £2 per Scratchcard (There is a 1 in 4.23 overall chance of winning a Prize on each Scratchcard)
  • Jewel Smash – £2 per Scratchcard (There is a 1 in 4.28 overall chance of winning a Prize on each Scratchcard)
  • Super 7s – £3 per Scratchcard (There is a 1 in 3.74 overall chance of winning a Prize on each Scratchcard )

What I thought of the Scratchcards

All of the Scratchcards were super easy to play. The instructions were easy to follow and I had no issue with understanding what I needed to do.

I enjoyed scratching them off, eagerly hoping I was going to win big. However, I only won on one of the cards.. I have covered up the code on the winning Scratchcard with white, as I’ve not claimed it yet. Here are all of the Scratchcards scratched off and a close up of the winning Scratchcard:

Scratchcards Super 7 Winning Scratchcard - Scratchcard Winners

I won £3! I was hoping that at least a couple of these Scratchcards would be winners.. but I guess that wasn’t meant to be. It is a gamble after all.

I’m pretty happy that the Scratchcard I won on is Super 7s and game number 7. Number 7 just so happens to be my favourite number. I guess it is for a lot of people, as it’s considered lucky. It was in this instance at least. This game also had the best odds out of all of the Scratchcards.

I generally find that I tend to win more on Scratchcards that cost more than a £1. I’m not sure if they all have better odds, or that’s just something that happens when I play.

Scratchcard issues

The only problems with Scratchcards that I find is that the area you scratch off never seems to be lined up with what is underneath. It drives me mad. You scratch off the exact area it says and there’s nothing under there. That’s my only quibble with Scratchcards.

It’s pretty first world problems of me to even complain about that to be honest.

Final thoughts

Thank you to Scratchcard Winners for providing me with the Scratchcards for this post. Be sure to go check them out.

All in all, I still love Scratchcards and my lack of winning won’t deter me from playing. There are big winners out there and one day maybe I will join them!

Do you guys play Scratchcards? If so, what’s the most you’ve won?

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post and I hope you are all doing well.

I don’t think I’ve ever bought a scratch card! But at my exes brother’s wedding they had them on the table – one per guest which was a fun unique touch. I didn’t win anything though. I’m a bit dubious about them!
Also I’ve only ever played the lottery once lol. I guess I’m not much of a gambler.

I’m not really much of a gambler either, but I do enjoy the lottery and scratchcards.

That’s a cool idea to have them on the table at a wedding.. although that could add up and be quite expensive if you have a lot of guests I guess!

I don’t think I’ve ever bought a scratchcard! Alan buys tickets for the National Lottery and EuroMillions every once in a while but the most we’ve ever won was about £30 I think. I’m not sure I want to go down the scratchcard route personally but I think they’d make fun Secret Santa gifts perhaps! Great review, lovely, and congratulations on your win 🙂 xx

I can’t remember how much we’ve won on lottery tickets, but it’s not been very much. Haha. We play every now and then, but we do scratchcards more.

Yes, they would be perfect for a Secret Santa gift.

Thank you for your lovely comment. ♥

I remember someone put a scratchcard in a birthday card once which was pretty cool and different. I didn’t win anything but it was a fun idea all the same. I imagine doing scratchcards is quite exciting as you just never know if today is going to be your lucky day. Good luck and congratulations on your win! Thank you for sharing your review <3 xx

I never even considered putting them in a birthday card.. but that’s a neat idea.

Yes, I find scratchcards very exciting.

Thank you for your lovely comment, as always ♥

Okay so, here’s the deal with scratch cards: I never win anything! I used to do a few because, well, who doesn’t want money but then gave up. However, seeing you actually win is a real motivator to maybe give them another go! Ayyy 7 also happens to be my favourite number too, along with 30, so we’ll have to see what that luck can bring me! x

Love scratchcards, I do treat myself to the odd one occasionally! Think the most I’ve won is £10, I tend to pop them in a birthday card as it’s a little treat and I hope if they win big they will remember who bought them the card!!

That’s really lovely of you to put them in a card. I think I’d be too bitter if I put a high winner in a card for someone else though!
