Sometimes I feel in the mood to just share some things with you all. So, today, I thought I’d share a couple of prize winnings and some lashes I’ve bought..
Oh, before I get started.. a huge Happy 9th Birthday to my adorable niece. I can’t believe she’s 9 today.. only seems like yesterday she was born. She had an early Birthday pizza party at Pizza Hut at the weekend with a load of her friends and I’m so jealous.. I want pizza!
My fiancé and I got her this jewellery making set that you colour in and then bake in the oven which makes it shrink! It looked interesting anyway and was not something I’d ever seen before.. so hopefully she liked it.
Now onto me waffling on about the prizes I won and the false lashes I bought:
EcoTools Brushes & Sponges
Amazingly, I actually won!
This was so nice and unexpected and it couldn’t have been a better prize win in all honesty, since I love EcoTools so much already. I was buzzing and couldn’t wait to receive them.
This is what I received:
- Enhancing Eye Set
- Micro Blending brush
- Skin Perfecting brush
- Retractable Face brush
- Custom Coverage Buffing brush
- Perfecting Blender Duo sponges
Thoughts on EcoTools
I love how on the back of the packaging there is an explanation for what each brush is best suited for. On the front of the packaging there is even a guide to tell you what sort of coverage to expect from each brush.
The packaging is super easy to open too, which I personally find really nice and helpful.
On each handle you will find the name of the brush, so no confusion there for what your brush should be used for. I’m personally not a fan of brushes that tell you just a number, or nothing at all. Sometimes my brain isn’t always functioning at a higher level, particularly in the morning, so it’s so handy to pick up a brush and immediately know you’ve grabbed the right one for whatever it is you are doing.
All of EcoTools brushes feel incredibly soft. I love them all so much. Not only are they nice to look at and feel soft to the touch, but they blend out your makeup beautifully too and make it effortless.
EcoTools are 100% vegan too, which I know will be a huge plus for a lot of people out there.
I definitely recommend EcoTools brushes if you’ve not tried them before. I am so happy that I won this competition and I now have more EcoTools brushes to add to my collection. You can never have too many brushes! I find I always need more.. particularly if I’ve been too lazy to clean them..
Being by Sanctuary Spa – Caramel Face Mask
I will be honest, I hadn’t heard of this brand and entered a competition on Instagram on a whim. I didn’t expect to win at all. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I really love face masks, so this was perfect.
Lately I’ve been opting for sheet masks over traditional face masks, as they are more convenient.. but face masks are always nice no matter the form in which they come in. They just have a special place in my heart.. or on my face I guess is more accurate.
This mask from Being by Sanctuary Spa is caramel scented and claims to be good for all skin types.
When you apply the face mask, it comes out of the tube a caramel colour but on the skin it’s pretty clear (which I personally find hard to see where I’ve applied it). It does smell incredibly sweet and definitely caramely. It felt pretty sticky on my skin too and I can’t say I was a fan of that. You then leave the mask on for fifteen minutes, then you remove with a warm cloth.
After removal my skin felt soft for sure and I was very relieved that I was no longer sticky. If you love sweet smelling face masks, then you’ll love this. It’s not a peel off though, so it doesn’t dry, but if you don’t mind a bit of stickiness for fifteen minutes then give this one a go. Even my fiancé commented how nice it smelled and I didn’t even tell him I had anything on. It’s not like you can notice it really, as it’s pretty clear on the skin. The perfect discrete mask if you need to open the door maybe?
Mini lash haul – Ardell Wispies and Eylure Enchanted – Heartbreaker lashes
I heard a lot of beauty vloggers on YouTube talking about Ardell wispies being lightweight and comfortable, saying are a staple and must have lash.. so, naturally, I thought I better get in on that action too! They appear to be very natural looking, which is nice. Sometimes you want a bit extra without being too extra, if you know what I’m saying.
Then these Eylure ones just called to me when I saw them. The band looks really thin and the lashes look pretty fluttery and not too full. They claim to be lightweight too, so I can’t wait to give these a go either. The other Eylure lashes I own all have a much thicker band, so I’m excited to try a thin band and see if I notice any difference.
Anyway, I have rambled enough..
I hope you enjoyed reading about my winnings and what lashes I’ve bought. If you want to read any of my other beauty related posts, you can find them here.
Have you won anything lately? What are your favourite makeup brushes, face masks and false lashes? Have you used EcoTools, Being by Sanctuary Spa, Ardell or Eylure before?
