When I saw Makeup Revolution’s (I Heart Makeup) Unicorns Heart I just had to have it. Not only is it adorably packaged within a white and gold cardboard heart, it has a beautiful holographic design on the front, complete with a unicorn image. It just screams cute and I’m all about that. I haven’t really used a rainbow highlighter before and thought I’d give it a go and see what I thought about it!
The highlighter is contained within a white box, with a pretty holographic design on the front and an image of the highlighter heart on the back. The side of the box displays a list of the ingredients. Inside the box is a lovely heart shaped highlighter container with a white lid and a gold base, the lid has the same holographic design as the box. The heart container is made of cardboard and so I’m not sure how well it would hold up in the long term if you were to keep it upon your person or travel with it.
You get 10g, which is a decent amount.
It’s not super expensive, but it’s not super cheap either. At £10.99 (the price I paid) I was taking a leap of faith and hoped it would look just as gorgeous as it did online… and I think it delivered.
I thought I’d list them out just in case this is something you personally like to look at:
Mica, Talc, Dimethicone, Nylon 12, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Carmine (CI 75470), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510).
How it looks on the skin
I’m going to show you two different ways in which you can use this highlighter, either all mixed together or as a rainbow. I guess you could also use whichever single colour you preferred too.
Personally, I really love how it looks all mixed together, it gives such a blinding highlight. It’s absolutely gorgeous! The picture really doesn’t do it justice, but even on my super ghostly pale skin it looks amazing. You can build up the intensity too, either dust on lightly for a nice subtle glow or you can lay it on thick and blind like the Goddess you are! I think I went in a bit heavy handed the last time I used this, but I think I pulled it off anyway. It’s perfect for dusting across your collar bones and shoulders too for that extra pop.
I think if you want to use the colours individually you may struggle a little trying to select each shade, unless you have a brush that is thin enough. If you were able to do this, I’m sure each shade would look as pretty on its own.

How it looks as a rainbow
I definitely love this highlighter, I think I prefer it over my other Makeup Revolution highlighter (which you can read my thoughts on here). Price wise I think I’d like to see it a little cheaper, and perhaps a little bit bigger so that each colour strip was a bit wider. These are my only niggles and they are minor ones and would not stop me purchasing this item again in the future.
I think if you’re into a super blinding glow and you don’t want to spend a fortune getting it, then this product is perfect. Plus, it’s super cute and girly!
