I’ve been suffering pretty badly with sinus problems for a little while now and doing some research led me to believe that getting a humidifier would help a lot. My fiance and I decided to try this diffuser and humidifier combo ( AMIR 150ml Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser ). At this point, after suffering for so long, anything was worth a go.
What is it?
It’s a sleek little unit that has two small buttons on the front of it, one for light and one for mist. You press them once to turn on and hold them down to turn off, so easy that even I worked it out without the use of instructions. The “light” button can either cycle through seven different pretty coloured lights or you can set it to whichever coloured light you prefer. The “light” function can be turned off altogether too. The mist button is the main draw of this unit for me. Simply place a little water inside (and essential oils, if you so desire) and then by pressing the mist button it will emit plain mist (or lovely scented mist) at regular intervals. The mist helps humidify the air, which helps prevent dry and stuffy air and potentially help ward away colds and flu.
Works with essential oils and perfectly safe to use overnight
You can use this unit with essential oils too, which will leave your home smelling lovely. We usually run the unit at night, so we get the benefit of having a lovely smelling room all night long. It’s perfectly safe to use overnight, as it has a safety shut off feature, once the water level gets low it turns itself off. The unit doesn’t get hot either, which is great, one of our cats loves to approach it and I’d hate for her to get burned by rubbing up against it.
Besides the fact that it humidifies and can help sinus issues, using different essential oils in the unit is said to help too. We picked up a pack of six essential oils and the ones we got are:
- Eucalyptus – Antiseptic qualities
- Tea Tree – Helps with skin problems, smelly feet
- Rosemary – Helps to boost mental activity (I could use as much help as possible in that regard!)
- Frankincense – Comfortable/spiritual environment
- Peppermint – Helps nausea, stomach issues and overworked muscles
- Lavender – Relaxing and good for the skin
They do much more than that though, depending on what site you go to online of course. Everyone seems to have their take on what they do and how to use them, personally I just like them for their scent. Although, having said that, I am sold on lavender being relaxing, as that’s something that I’ve heard time and again. It certainly helped me to sleep the first night we had it! The health benefits listed may not be applicable when using these oils in vapour form.
The essential oils we got for it came with a book of “recipes” for a variety of purposes, from how to use essential oils on burnt pans to creating your own face wash. So not only is it fantastic to create lovely smells in this unit, you can do so much more with them.
Do I recommend the AMIR 150ml Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser?
Yes, I think that if you like lovely smells, or are like me and struggle with sinus problems, then this would be a great unit to have in your home. It doesn’t take up much space and won’t break your bank account. I’m very pleased with it and I’m glad we bought it.
